OMG! PillPack! (Review and Unboxing)

So a few weeks ago, I saw an ad on Facebook for a service called PillPack. I decided I would give them a go, because the idea sounded like a fine one to me! They have a really sleek webpage, and the service is basically just a mail order pharmacy. BUT. WAIT. THERE’S MORE.

They individually pack your daily pills into easy to read and open packets, and can be customized to include different times during the day as well. I reviewed their help page, as it answers all the questions. They handle contacting your current pharmacy for current prescriptions, get your insurance information, and even contact your provider if you are almost out of refills. I haven’t seen my first bill posted, but they state: “There is no charge for PillPack beyond standard 30-day co-pays. You receive a monthly billing statement that shows the cost of your medications, the amount that was covered by insurance, and the amount to be paid out-of-pocket. There are no shipping, handling, or extra fees associated with switching to PillPack.” I will update to let you know if there was much difference between my pharmacy and PillPack as far as pricing.

But they also can include your OTC medications. I take an allergy medication, as well as a multivitamin. They were able to provide both! And when I signed up, I chose the wrong dosage for my allergy pill, and a pharmacist contacted me by email to let me know they can fill it with the child’s dose I had requested, but that they wanted to check with me to see if I would like the usual adult dosage. I emailed them back to let them know to correct it, and within 24 hours I had received a notice back from them, letting me know it was updated.

You can even put medications on hold, update your address or medications right online.

So here is my unboxing of my first PillPack!

Has a nice seal on the bottom, to make sure it hasn’t been tampered with!

I even got a cute hand written note from one of the pharmacy staff!

Underneath the note is the plastic box that actually contains the medications.

And here they are! Rolled up nicely so that I can just remove the packets I need, and leave the rest safely behind. This will be great for traveling!

There was another mysterious box underneath the pills.

A Welcome packet, and the medication guides for my prescription medications.

They even provide a fancy little tear out card at the end, so you can share your pharmacy information easily with providers. This will definitely be going in my handbag!

So far, I have to say this looks AMAZING. So organized, so elegantly designed. This is great for anyone who has to take medications daily, so as long as the price isn’t much different from my regular in town pharmacy, I will be sticking with PillPack!
